StillpageA PDF Expert alternative for Mac
PDF Expert costs $79.99 a year, or $139.99 once for the Mac-only version (as of 2 November 2026). It's a full editor: it edits existing text, annotates, converts to Word and has an AI assistant. If you only need to sign, fill in forms, make scans searchable, merge and compress, Stillpage does that on your Mac for $29 once.

Choose PDF Expert if…
- You edit the wording of PDFs, mark them up for others, or convert them to Office files
- You want the same app on your iPhone and iPad
Choose Stillpage if…
- Your PDF work is paperwork: signing, forms, scanning and tidying pages
- You want to pay once, at the lowest price, with nothing uploaded
- You make many scans searchable and want to do a whole folder in one go
What Stillpage does
- Sign with a saved typed or drawn signature, plus the date and ticks in one click
- Fill in forms, saved so they keep working in other apps
- Make scans searchable with Apple's on-device text recognition, one file or a whole folder
- Merge PDFs, create a PDF from photos and scans, insert pages
- Rotate, delete and reorder pages
- Compress large PDFs for email
Forms that keep working
Stillpage adds your answers to the original file rather than rewriting it, so radio buttons and drop-downs still work when the form is opened in another app. More in filling in PDF forms on a Mac.
